Yes, I've seen this too - the 111. Brigade within the Ürümqi Base - - and to admit I'm not sure what to think.
Either this could explain where the new birds for the 7. Division are from (maybe a simple swap between two unit ... however very much unlikely) or a hint that the 111. Brigade got something different ... maybe J-16 ???

Maybe it is a unit redeployment? Probably they decided that only aircraft and pilot and some other important equipment and personal need to move when something like local air base assets and some of logistic crews (those who doing something like supply food for the base) stay thus the OOB would remain same when their major equipment changes. IIRC US Army have done something similar to their european garrison.
Actually I don't think so, since it is a recent image and a redeployment would not mean a re-equipment with an older type ...
By the way, a first clearer image of the J-11B's Type 1493 radar ...
Interesting ... but even more interesting, that a few (indeed most) J-11Bs in that line-up have a grey radome similar to the J-15s !!

Do you think the inevitable radar upgrades will impact J-11B/BS/A?
Not really sure, but it seems simply as a fact as if the B-models gained grey radomes too ... if this is related to an update, simply new new radome or new paint I don't know ...
