That's far more likely. In any case the J-11 was flying really low.

My way of telling is to check if the vertical tail is green.
Not sure how could I tell once it is painted tho.

Just found an image of a J-11D with full yellow paint.
Yeah, just use Blitzo's method, way more accurate.
