Willing to bet that the full message on the banner on the right says "向罗阳同志学习“ (follow comrade Luo Yang's example). Luo Yang was the chief designer for the J-15 and J-31 who passed away last year. I think this message was designed to spur on the SAC employees.

At least it is the first J-15 - and IMO it is not a mock-up - to carry the PLANAF-flag.

According to this news report, Russian will not ship avionics of Su-35 to China. What China buy is just "irons." The PESA radar of Su-35 would not be included in the deal.

I think this is a repainted prototype. Xi is visiting primarily to checkout the new batch of J-15 pilots.

and I will surmise that this is an LRIP PLANAF J-15, and predict that we will soon see others, one of the reasons that the J-31 has been moved back to flight status, at any respect the J-15 is job 1. When the big boss shows up and give them the official blessing, I have been convinced that the Liaoning and soon to be sisters, are job 1. brat

Do I see a port for a single barrel 30 mm cannon in the wing root? Is that the only one or is there also one in the other wing root?
I never looked for cannon in J-11's. Do they have the same?

Yes, they are all the same ... only one cannon in the right wing-root.

That's obviously comes from a screen shot of a video. If we can find that video we would know a lot more.
