With what I have personally seen in JF17, heard what FC20 has and knowing they are busy with J20 and J31... There is no chance to still agree with that Chinese produce inferior parts.

No Munir, I bought my Dad a Chinese Hacksaw 20 years ago, it was all metal and chrome, I paid a buck, it was a birthday gift as he liked tools, good tools, mostly Craftsman, Crescent, Channel-Loc, etc,. He was really quite pleased with it as was I, I am old enough to remember when made in Japan was a curse, then it became a blessing, I love my Nikorrmat cameras, they are gorgeous, from the 60s and 70s and heavily made, same with made in China, it was a curse, now it ticks me off still that we allowed all the manufacturing to be moved overseas and I knew that was stupid even as a young guy. I have noticed when I bought my first 35.00 electric helicoptor from Walmart, the addition of the gyro allows it to fly quite well, so No, I am not a Chinese detractor and with the Chinese expertise in electronics, bicycles, go down the list.

Now let me say that you guys have been partially responsible for my transformation, on our sister forum DT, even the Mods are smart alec "know it alls", allways right, and rude to new posters, its not a "forum", but a newsletter, I don't post there much, because its such a caustic environment, harsh and critical. Now Sino D, we have wonderfull, respectfull, bright mods who are very tolerant of our formative mistakes, with patient reminders to read the rules, don't do that please, in general just an more respectfull thoughtfull forum. Posters are able to disagree and discuss cogent points of their argument without being dissed by the more experienced members, so you guys have opened my mind, and I can't help myself, I just love you guys, respect your opinions, and appreciate your many kindnesses, guys who are nasty, good-bye!

So, this is a place you can learn a lot, not saying we never pull one anothers chain, but its out of a sense of friendship and comaraderie, a very collegial atmosphere, so yes I have come to respect China through the good will ambassadors of Sino D. You will notice that I love this stuff and when something such as the J-15 or J-20 is especially bright and well thought out, I say so, I do love the Flankers, and I am particullarly impressed with Chinese Flankers.

Now someone asked me what I thought of the avionics? I know they will be competant, but frankly I lack any real insight or expertise in this area, sticking to the airframes and aerodynamic, and flying aspects has worked best for the old AFB, some of you real experts start talking and the old AFBs eys glaze over and I say HUH? I have been very impressed with lots of what we see, on the other hand I am concerned with powerplants etc, but as I say, this is rocket science, I don't always understand it, but I recognize brilliance when I see it? Cheers AFB -sorry to write a book?

Not to get too OT but I agree with what both you and Munir in regards to Made in china products. Most American consumers only know these products through their purchases of consumables at WalMart. Yes the quality is questionable and realiability suspect but the truth is, it's because they are made extremely cheaply. It doesn't matter who or what country makes them.. if you have a certain price point you have to aim at, quality suffer. Sometimes when I go to Wally wold I am amaze how something.. whatever it is can be sold for $3.99 or $10.99 etc... well you can if there is not much QC, and materials are sub standard.

OTOH at my work I also work with Motorola scanners (made in China) and have purchased well over $500K worth of them and let me tell you their quality rivals anything made in Japan or Germany. Of course they also cost almost $2K a pop. Made in china products get a bad rep in the US mainly because US consumer demands value on their goods and when something is made cheaply like that quality suffers. A lot of their commercial products are day and night when compared to their toys, clothes, shoes or electronics you buy at Wal Mart or Target etc.

Ok back to Flanker discussion ;)

Beautifull Escobar, look like marketing slicks to me, I have several from McDonnel Douglas/Boeing my neighbor gave me when he moved, he had worked at Mac his whole life. These slicks sell airplanes No Doubt About It, and they are almost as cool as Jeffs models, not as much work, but still very cool. Nice for a guys office or den, AFB.

I like (and share) your enthusiasm about the FLANKER. The number I can read indicates that they are J-11 of 2 Div 6 Regt Suixi. But they are definitely not from the subtropical Leizhou Peninsula, perhaps a deployment to Tibet and, in view of the desert landscape in one, to Dingxin.
