The exhibits have been there since 2009 when the new exhibition hall opened. The sign on the FWS10 said that it "can be" installed onto the J-10 with modifications; but it's primary for the J-11B.

The 24th Fighter Regiment currently operates J-7 II. As the ESF 12th Fighter Regiment, which has now converted to J-10AH, flew J-7EH, the conversion of the 24th, if confirmed, would mean the disappearance of the FISHBED from the PLANAF order of battle.

As it turned out, it was actually 22 Aviation Regiment, 8 PLAN Fighter Division at Jialai that converted to J-11BH, coded 81x8x (81088 noted). The division’s 24 Aviation Regiment, also at Jialai, replaced its J-7 II with J-7EH from 12 Aviation Regiment, 4 Fighter Division, when this unit converted to J-10AH, also in 2010.

So PLANAF still has one FISHBED regiment (which may, who knows, convert to J-15 in due time?).

scramble only shows one active regiment in the 8th division. It's hard to say the status of that J-7EH regiment. Although looking on PLAN's frugalness, I would think it's not retired yet. But in a few more years, it will be retired once it's service life comes to a close. Regardless, PLANAF is getting new planes at a faster rate than PLAAF.

Scramble is good, but it is not omniscient nor devoid of errors. However, they (now) have two regiments in 8 Fighter Division, both in Jialaishi, namely 22 Regt with J-11BH and 24 Regt with J-7 II. They have not (yet) noted the transfer of 12 Regt's J-7E to Jialai
