"Pro-West"? Really that's completely unfair to suggest the pro-democracy campaigners have anything to do with a "pro-West" view. They're campaigning for HK's future - the US and Europe doesn't come into it.

Thanks FuManChu! It's quite common for people to label movements "pro-West" when the West has nothing to do with it.

I also want to re-emphasize the fact that Hong Kong did not have democracy under British rule. Thanks Assasinsmace and company for mentioning this often neglected fact!

utelore, is this what you were talking about?

Unfortunately you can't see the whole thing, only snippets. I did see some other series from a few years ago, but the mods on the forum (PRC) kept taking it off for some reason, so I can't remember where to find it now.

FuManChu, yes that is it. It is on HDTV on INHD1 and 2.

Oh, right - those must be subscription channels or something. Well I can't get those. I'll see if I can find the series elsewhere.

I'm not sure about buying a DVD of a documentary series. They're often interesting but more the kind of thing I want to record on VHS or something. I think I can watch the series another way. I'll give some feedback on the series if I'm able to do that.

You seem to be always coming back for more.

It's called challenging your misinformation. I only replied to statements in your posts. You talked about freedom and rights and people being imprisoned without trial in China. And I showed you that the British imprisoned people without trial too. If you didn't want to be challenged then don't bring hypocitical charges that return to bite the British back in the ass.

You talk about whining? Whining is complaining about facts you can't seem to argue against then demanding no one debate your posts. So the people that only follow what you believe seem to be only allowed to an opinion here? What kind of freedom is that?

This whole thread is a diversion to perpetuate a self-serving geo-political agenda in the guise of human rights and freedom.

You hit the nail on the head.

Fu Manchu just shows up in a Chinese website, posts some provocative China-bashing comments, and when other people calls him on how hypocritical and biased this China-bashing rhetoric is, he changes the subject (like talking about another TV series).

Notice that he never tries to defend the West for all its glaring faults. He doesn't deny it or justify it.

Fu Manchu is just playing a game: the game is China-bashing, and if you are critical of any country other than China, you are "off topic" according to him.

I can't wait until he fishes out another China-bashing news article from the internet and posts it here to get a rise out of people. I don't know why the mods let him troll the way he does.

Well he's been banned before. I don't recall if was this forum or in another I've seen him in. Also I remember when he got banned the mod said something like he was a Taiwanese flamer. That would explain a lot if true.
