seriously, wtf was PLAN thinking to launch a SLBM while there is commercial airline flying over the top. Someone in PLAN needs to be reprimanded for this.

I would care if that ballistic missile hits a civilian aircraft and killed 150 people.

On top of that, why would you want a secretive test to be unveiled to public by an airline pilot? The entire thing is ridiculous. Even if you don't care about it possibly hitting a civilian aircraft, having a secretive test getting publicized like this is something that should be avoided.

Perhaps it was an accidental launch. It might not even be the JL-3.

there is no such thing as an accidental launch of an SLBM. even assuming that there are absolutely 0 permissive action links and any random sailor can launch by pressing a single button, you must be at launch depth to even attempt to launch and the probability of being at launch depth, far shallower than operating depth, while an accident occurs simultaneously, is vanishingly small.

now my question is, why do you suggest accidental launch? what are your motivations for suggesting this when this sort of event has never occurred in all of history and is something that is guarded against by design in every single strategic weapons system since the 1950's? we all know the answer to that.

You are probably right if you are not part of the victims , it could be you though

It is not hard to plan it better, I am actually very surprised. normally PLA is superb in planning

But like Blitzo said, just wait for more news first
