If the guy had asked if the Admiral would execute a nuclear attack on Australia right that minute if Trump ordered it and the answer would have also been 'yes'.

It would have been quite extraordinary and untenable for the admiral to say anything other than yes. Just as I would expect a resounding and unequivocal 'yes' from the head of the PLAN or Chinese rocket forces if they had been asked if they would execute a nuclear attack on America if president Xi ordered it. It is a key part of their job and responsible to be willing and able to do that if ordered.

Would the US president need the Defence minister to get a combined code to activate nukes?

My point is ... Trump himself wouldn't be able to initiate nuclear war ... need somebody else ... hopefully there will never be 2 insane top leaders at the same time :(:(:( .. otherwise everybody would suffer or die and the world we know of would be gone

Put it this way .. do you think China would just stay doing nothing, how about Russia?

China would simply attack back, not only to the US .. but Russia (yes Russia) and EU, India, Japan, etc, etc.

And do you think Russia would just attack (revenge) China ...... no, Russia also would nuke everybody else, including of course the US and EU because Russia wouldn't want to get destroyed while the US and EU intact ..... Russia would want everybody to suffer/destroy as well, especially the US

Nuke is a very very dangerous game within the big 5 countries

I think IMO Trump was just tweeting to distract the media away from his Russian connection to the election special investigation. Either way, the guy is weird and losing the confidence of the American people in the latest ratings.

yes... and going by the pattern of revelation and the precedent of past similar revelation, I suspect the DF-31AG has probably been in some state of operation for a few years now. That is to say, this isn't a revelation of a new system that has only begun tests or something.

Sometimes I forget that the Chinese military still has the capacity to surprise, and that the things we see are only there because they choose to show it to us. Makes me wonder what host of other common sense weapons under development they have going on in advanced stages which we don't know about (stealth cruise missiles, new LRSAMs, new AAMs, new small arms, new AFVs etc... or even the number of J-20s, J-16s, J-10Cs, Y-20s etc)...


The last similar revelation like this was back in 2015 for the VJ day parade when DF-26 appeared suddenly with little prior warning before the episode, where we had no pictures of the system before they decided to show it to us.

Please elaborate ... which part of "launch base" is interesting, thank you

It is interesting that at least 16 DF-31AG already in service (surely much more) plus DF-31A and DF-31 and also DF-5A/B and DF-41

I think China just want to send a message clearly that China has more than enough to retaliate anybody

How many do you think DF-31, DF-31A and DF-31AG already in service now? I wouldn't be surprised
if total about 100 DF-31 series in service by now
