Why is there so much cockpit-glass behind the pilots? Based on the way it is depicted doesn't really conferr much backwards visibility.

Not sure how confident we can be about the finer details of the CG, but if the CG is accurate then perhaps J-36 is a four seater?

Could it be that J36 doesn't just have side-by-side twin seats but also a back row of one or two additional seats? I mean if you want to have four seats you'd want to have two seats on the front row. And that seems to be a major potential motivation for having a side-by-side arrangement.

Reporter was a Filipino-Russian. He was mainly quoting Bill Sweetman.

Before US DoD develops a formal response, all the US media are either silent on J-36 or coping. If I am being honest, the task for Trump administration is how to catch up, not how to lead.

I would have expected more from John. This is really poor.
At least he got the part about electronic warfare correct with the third engine.
No analysis of the huge nose or interior space at all.
Is there a reason why B21 is that expensive? It has two F135-level engines. Using the popular theory in this forum, B21 won't have too much excessive power to drive the electronics and cooling thus sensor sets have to be limited. Then, it is not expected to be supersonic, thus lower requirements on the stealth paint. Yes B21 has a wider wingspan, that alone can't explain the cost
IF the B-21 generates less or as much power as something like a J-36, then it will be obsolete by 2037.

It also sorely needs IRST, and also not sure how the (forward) conformal arrays stack up against the cheek AESAs on the J-36.
This is something I have not actually thought about much. WS-15 would have similar dry thrust to B-21’s PW9000. Maybe a little less, but the power generating potential for 3 WS-15 is just so much higher.

Seems like his USAF sources are going the “it’s JH-26, just like we wrote in the report” and “this was no surprise to us” route. Everything is under control folks. Nothing to see here.

Yes, it’s very much obsolete with less power, lower speed, lower ceiling and fewer sensors than the thing that will be hunting it…

B-21 production cost is about to top $1.2B per plane in 3, 2, 1…
