Peru deployed 2000 troops of the Armed Forces in order to ensure order
(Defensa.com) In order to support the police in restoring order in the Province of Islay (Arequipa), where the government of Ollanta Humala I performed a standstill against the Tia Maria mining project, ordered the deployment immediately of 2,000 troops of the Armed Forces, under the Supreme Resolution No. 105-2015-IN which "authorizes the intervention of the military in the Department of Arequipa, province of Islay, from May 9 to June 7 2015, in order to "ensure the monitoring and maintenance of internal order and prevent acts of violence or any unlawful could commit during the demonstrations and any other act of vandalism."
