The Argentine Army incorporates a Twin Otter plane

Cotecmar and the amphibious landing ship Gulf of Urabá


(defensa.com) The vessel, designed for treasury operations of humanitarian assistance and logistical support in riverine and coastal areas and support disaster relief, is the second ship Amphibious Landing (BDA) built and designed by Colombian shipyard Cotecmar. It is expected to be delivered to the Navy in Colombia this month. The first class, the ARC BDA 'Tribugá Gulf', was launched in February 2015 and baptized in April of that year.


The Navy provides for the integration in its fleet of six of these vessels, all made by the Corporation of Science and Technology for Development of the Naval, Maritime and River Industry (Cotecmar). To the contrary it says that Cotecmar plans on delivering the vessel to the Navy, " It is expected to be delivered to the Navy in Colombia this month."

Roll Out of the LAV II for the Marine of Peru
