Brazil inaugurates SISFRON
(defensa.com) The Brazilian Army held on November 13 in Dourados (Matto Grosso do Sul) the launch of the Integrated Border Integrated Monitoring (SISFRON) System, a major strategic projects of the Land Forces.
The overall design and initial system planning included in their basic project, prepared in 2010 and 2011, by hiring a national company with experience in the integration of complex projects, was built by Embraer Defense & Segurança. The system highlights the presence of units of the armed forces in the border region and raise capacity of local industry to achieve autonomy in critical defense technologies.
The detection means SISFRON will be deployed along the 16,886-kilometer border with monitoring an area of approximately 27% of the country, which will enhance the use of the structure subordinate to the Military Command of the Amazon, West and South.
The System Pilot Project was implemented in the area of the Fourth Mechanized Cavalry Brigade, based in Dourados. It belongs to Western Military Command (CMC), has most of its units deployed along the border with Paraguay, which comprises a front of more than 600 kilometers in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
With the use of a technological advanced machine, the 4th Brigade and assume this watch.
