The Brazilian government first requested study for a navalized Gripen

PRrP22A.jpg

(defensa.com) According to a statement released by the Ministry of Defence, the Draft Annual Budget Law for 2015 must include full credit of nearly $ 500 million to launch the procurement of fighter aircraft Gripen NG. The text of the note states that the contribution of that amount was outstanding on Monday at the meeting of the Monitoring Committee of F-X2 Project, held at the Defense Ministry in Brasilia.

The note specifies that the president of the Coordination Committee of the Programme of Combat Aircraft (COPAC), Brigadier José Augusto Crepaldi Affonso, the statement "demonstrates the government's commitment to the project" in the original schedule should have endorsed in their respective contract before the end of December this year.

In addition to resources, the FX-2 project must also demonstrate commitment to the issue of technology transfer. According Crepaldi, thanks to advances in the negotiations, the participation of the Brazilian defense industry in this project will happen on a larger scale, being present in more steps than previously expected. "The steering committee meeting is very important because it allows, through the Ministry of Defense, an interaction with all government agencies responsible for the project at the highest level," said Brig. "The guidelines emanating from here much faster at all levels of government, facilitating the project as a whole," concluded Crepaldi.

The Defense Ministry statement said that the meeting of the committee the possibility that the contract with Sweden also contemplates, in the technology transfer package, a study on the feasibility of the Gripen NG for naval use is also discussed, as aircraft game board. Admiral Carlos Frederico Carneiro Primo, head of the Department of Aeronautics of the Navy, said the idea is that this study is included as offset (normal trade compensation in major international agreements import) the contract and, if feasible, may represent an important "logistical triumph" for Brazil. "If I buy a plane and use this model in another force, won in the life cycle, maintenance and operation of the aircraft, reinforcing the issues of interoperability, ie the ability of the three forces to interact" . Saab revealed the Sea Gripen project since 2010, reinforcing structures and landing gear, among other items, while looking for a launch customer.

For all of you interested in the IA-63, Phase II

9PbEC8f.jpg

The assemble of the 40 units budgeted for last years are under construction. The Navy is scheduled to receive 12 aircraft and the remaining 28 will be delivered to the Air Force. Eleven of these will join the training squadron in Cordoba (19 aircraft currently in service). The remaining seventeen will serve as “place holders” for the deconditioned Mirage IIIs and Mirage Vs until a replacement arrives, if ever.

After having seen the Fabrica Militar de Aviones (FMA). This facility should have no problem constructing (less so) assembling the JF-17 if the government elected to do so. The problem being that the government does not want to give the military any new toys.

This list looks very Conservitive but fine none the less.
Poland just bought Walther P99 it's a fair gun with lots of improvements the latest PPQ would be a excellent service pistol.
L9A1 is a type 2 phaser. I say that because the grip angle is identical to the type 2 phasers prop form the original star trek it's unique in that aspect
HK USP another now proven design. based on improvements from the HK Mk23. It's well liked and serves widely although there later P30 and VP9 have better ergonomics
The Px4 Storm is already in service with Venezuela. it's not a bad pistol has alot going for it

Argentine Primary Radar 3D long range is no longer a prototype

GgV5vOa.jpg

(defensa.com) The Directorate General of Research and Development (DIGID) under the Argentina Air Force, was the body responsible for carrying out the certification of radar in Morón Air Base. During the procedure, analytical studies on various test scenarios and empirical tests using equipment and aircraft flights were conducted. Also, planes PA-28 were used to check the radar coverage, and a section of planes A-4 of the V ° Air Brigade measurements allowed the radar cell size (discrimination distance and azimuth).

3D primary radars are indispensable for the defense of a country strategic tool because they provide data that enable movement situation and the tasks of detection, monitoring, identification and control airspace within its coverage range.

The agreement, signed in 2007 between Military Industries (FM) state enterprise and rionegrina INVAP allowed to initiate the development of Primary 3D Long Range Radar, known as Primary Radar Argentino. FM took over management of the project and was established as head of product patents, while INVAP contributed its technological capabilities in radar systems. The roadmap plan included six different stages of development or Models of Technology Assessment (MET).

In 2010, in the province of Santiago del Estero, the first business model resulting from the third phase of RPA (MET 3), also called medium Experimental Radar (RAME) was installed. In 2011, Las Lomitas (province of Formosa) was the venue chosen under the Operating Escudo Norte to locate an active model long range now tested and certified as Radar Primary Argentino, in a few days will be permanently installed in a modern tower monitoring and control built in that location.

The processing characteristics of the RPA make it an efficient screening tool in areas of severe clutter and other types of interference, such as technologies used to confuse radar jamming. For this case has a sophisticated Electronic Counter-Countermeasures (ECCM) that detects this type of operation and neutralized.

It also has low maintenance costs and a lot of flexibility in their location, as it is easily adapted to different geographical and climate scenarios, providing an optimal response to military needs. The Primary Radar Argentino (RPA) is a sophisticated detection equipment, monitoring and control with a coverage radius of 250 miles (400 kilometers).

The President, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner led the October 9 the act of final delivery of the first three Primary Radars Argentinos and approved through a videoconference joined Las Heras in the south with Las Lomitas, in the province of Formosa , where he settled permanently one of the radars and surveillance and control tower opened.

The head of the Defense Ministry, Agustín Rossi said: "We are launching the first station of control and surveillance radar system North Shield program, and delivered to the Air Force the first three primary radars manufactured INVAP. One of them is the one here, the second will be installed in the coming months in Ing. Juárez, also in the province of Formosa, and the third works in Morón Air Base. "

Argentina looking to Russian poultry import quotas

MOSCOW, August 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Argentina is interested in receiving Russia’s import quotas for poultry, granted to the European Union before Moscow's ban on western food imports, Russia’s veterinary inspection service Rosselkhoznadzor said on Tuesday after talks with Argentinian ministers.

The country has created a special commission to examine the possibilities of expanding trade turnover with Russia, said First Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Bianco ahead of a session of the Russian-Argentinian intergovernmental commission for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation in Moscow in September.

Putin hopes to strengthen Russia’s business contacts with Argentina
Argentina is ready to organize supplies of a wide range of animal and plant products to Russia, including dairy products, cheeses, chocolate and confectionery products, milk powder, wine, macaroni products, fish and seafood, and fruit - mainly citrus fruits, apples and pears, said Argentina's Industry Minister Debora Giorgi. The country also considers supplying breeding animals and genetic material, the minister added.

The Russian agency will examine proposals and guarantees of the Argentinian side within the shortest possible time to expand the list of enterprises interested in supplying animal products to the Russian market, said Rosselkhoznadzor head Sergey Dankvert.

The ban announced on August 7 bars imports of meat, fish, dairy, fruit and vegetables from the United States, the 28-nation European Union, Canada, Australia and Norway for 12 months in retaliation for sanctions imposed by those nations on Russia over events in Ukraine.

Combined with other import bans imposed earlier this year, the new trade measures cover western imports worth $9.1 billion in 2013, according to Russian customs data.

Interesting that there is no mention of wine.
