Any chance to resume the Type 45 destroyer project if there's a customer?

as far as I know, they have been built at BAE Systems' Govan and Scotstoun Shipyards on the River Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland, so maybe you should check

I suppose there is always a chance should a nation be willing to fund it. Including the UK.

But would say that it is so extremely unlikely as to border on "never going to happen."

I do not believe at this point that the UK will order more, and there are only a very few countries that the UK would share that technology with even if they did want to buy them.

And who would that be anyway?

The Australians? No. They are already building the Hobarts.

The US? Nope. 62 Arleigh Burkes and probably twenty more to build tell that story.

France? No. They are building the FREMMs.

Italy? No. Ditto above with the French.

Spain? No, they have their own AEGIS frigates.

Japan? No. They have their Kongo and Atago DDGs, and will be building more Atagos.

South Korea? no, they have their own Se Jong AEGIS DDGs and will build more of those.

Brazil? Very unlikely...could not afford it and probably would not be shared.

In fact, outside of the UK itself, the US (who will never buy them as they have their own AEGIS vessels by the scores) and the Australians, it is unlikely that the UK would share the technology with any of the others anyway.

Indonesia maybe?? Yesterday I saw somewhere on the SDF some idea(s) on an Indonesian aircraft carrier (?) but I didn't have time to read it immediately and now I don't even know which thread it was on :-(

Fire on HMAS Bundaberg whilst undergoing maintenance.

Today at approximately 12:10 pm HMAS Bundaberg suffered damage due to a fire while undergoing maintenance at a civilian contractor site in a Brisbane shipyard.

Defence understands that at least two civilian contractors suffered smoke inhalation and were treated at the scene.

No members of the Navy crew were injured in the incident.

Local civilian fire units are attending the incident.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time

An assessment of damage and an investigation into the cause of the fire will be undertaken once it is safe to do so.
