Are the SU-30 & MIG29M compatible for chinese modernization ?
Can the Algerian airforce SU30MKAs aaand MIG29s get a chinese upgrade, SU-30 to be something similar to J-16 spec and MIG-29 to J-10C spec ?
China have extensively worked on the flanker platform and on the MIG29 RD33(93) engines on the JF-17 program.
Upgrade of Engines, Avionics, Radar, armament.
- WS-10 to the SU-30, WS-13/21 to the MIG-29.
- AESA GaN radar (Klj type), modern avionics and DAS suite.
- RCS reduction using RAM material and Radar blockers, plus weight reduction if possible.
- Chinese missile compatiblity especially BVRAAM family of PL missiles.
- Chinese Targeting/EW pods.
I was thinking of joint Algerian/Egyptian funded moderninzation program for the MIG-29s mainly retro fitting components from the J-10C / JF-17 / J-31 and some modification on the body.
If the upgrades were non-viable what are the twin-jet air superiority fighter Algeria's Air force can procure?

Aren't the MKI variants open architecture? because it was jointly developed with HAL, and now are doing a major upgrade "Super Sukhoi" by incorporating domestic tech & components including the uttam aesa radar.Nope. Because the original avionics architecture does not lend itself for easy upgrades.
