All recent Russian aircraft are compatible electrically and in terms of bus with NATO standards. Not that difficult to adapt it to fire NATO weapons or interface with NATO standard equipment if necessary. But the system programming itself as far as I know remains with the aircraft manufacturer for the most part.

Cross generational dress change is a direct translation of 跨代换装。Meaning equipment change to that of next generation (cross over to another generation).

Yes, that should indicate equipment change from 3rd gen J8 to probably either J10 or J11, though they didn't say which. Also can't rule out change to J20 but that chance is very unlikely.

Thanks ... just to be sure; "Dongkong" = ETC?

This I can only make a guess, so I coud be wrong. Since this concerns air force, my wild guess is Dong = East and kong = Air.

East Air probably referred to Eastern Air Command/Theatre. so yeah it could be ETC. Just my 2 cent.
J-8s serving with ETC suggest that this is the 93rd Air Brigade, correct?

JL-10 uses a Ukranian engine, from a factory that was partially or totally destroyed by Russia in the current war. Has that affected the project? Is there a replacement engine?

Can someone (anyone) here please help me with a J-11BG question? I tried asking Mr. Rupprecht on his Twitter account twice but no one answers there.

Is the radome of the J-11BG with the AESA radar identifiable with a white radome, or a light gray radome? Mr. Rupprecht's Dragon Flankers books shows gray, but these pictures seemingly show white. Still other pictures show light gray.

Which one is it gray or white - or could it be both?

Help, anyone?
