sorry I thougth you mented PLZ05, I miss read it...:(

But Like i said with PLL01 earlier, I hope that its imporved variant with APU and computerized fire controll will enter into mass production, or be a stepping stone for something new, becouse no army cannot re-equip such a huge ammount of artillery battalions with the most expensive alternative that there is, in chinese case the PZL01.
But we know more, when we know what sort of artillery choises are made for the supposedly rabid moving wheeled mechanised units.

Let's see what do we have now. Type 83 152mm, type 89 122mm and type 89 122mm MRLS are standard for tracked mechanized units. Type 90 122mm MRLS is standard for wheeled and motorized units. As for wheeled artilleries:

105mm and 100mm are deployed in fast speed. It seems Lanzhou MR is getting 105mm, jinan, nanjing and guangzhou are getting 100mm, not sure about others

It is very clear that PLA will have their wheeled units all equipted with SP guns. "Mechanization" was clearly declared as one of the main targets in Mr. Hu's report to CCP, they are serious. And the definition of PLA's mechanization is very clear that no towed artillery is allowed. All the news about mechanized units never ever showed a single towed artillery, instead, everytime you see some SP artilleries. One thing about current PLA is they do not care about money. One example is, news on mechanized unit constantly showing up type 95 SP AAA. That thing is much more expensive than SP artilleries and it's equippted to both tracked and wheeled units.

Of those wheeled vehicles, only the 122mm is actually an artillery piece in the sense that is in question in this thread aka. the basic fire support element of regiment or divisional level. The 105mm and 100mm systems are Anti-tank/infantry support vechicles and not to be mixed with "proper" artillery.

The ACP with the D-30 onboard in closed tower was only export prototype which never saw service in PLA and most likely wasen't intended to be so. The truck-mounted systems are prototypes of the SH-1/2 systems which fields the PLL01 and D-30 fitted in trucks as seems to be the fashion today. There's a good articles of both systems in the mainsite. Sofar they seems to be the most potent artillery systems introduced by china (aside the PZL01 which capacity is however still unknown) with computerised fire control and GPS based targeting/navigation systems. Sadly they are at least at the moment only for export markets but I remain hopefull that they as well as the fire control system fitted to PLL01 with APU will find its way to PLA as well.

I never said it would have been (??)

I just said that I wish to see all the latest chinese artillery systems, SH-1/2, PZL05 and APU fitted PLL01 derivate in PLA serivice as the chinese land force is so huge that it automaticly fullfills all the roles and taskes in which all these various systems are specially suited.

That's also what I mean. I think the wheeled units will get wheeled artilleries. We have 5 models here, 4 are 122mm so seems enough choices.

Actually there's only two existing wheeled SP systems, the SH-1 which is 155m and the SH-2 which is 122mm. Rest of the systems are either prototypes or completely different purpose vehciles than artillery...

See my photos, there are two other wheeled 122mm with better armour protection. Prototypes are also future choices.

In those pics of yours there was two version of D-30 fitted atop wheeled ACP. It most likely was equivalent to the tracked 122mm SP system already in service. However they were mere prototypes and propaply cancelled by now. There's no need to have two wheeled 122mm SP system in service as the differences in the automotive parts are nightmare to the support elements.
