No when you run it locally through Ollama you can even have it running purely on the CPU and system ram instead of GPU and VRAM, it will just run slower.

Eh? Meta is behind Deepseek, Gemini and Open AI for over a year. Looks like a rumour without and actual basis. Salaries at Meta are not good at all compared to Open AI which was complete spray and pray.
yeah, if that Meta news is real, you can just imagine what's going on behind the scenes of all the other major hyperscalers at the moment who are having to decide whether or not they can release the next iteration of their model.
