American Economics Thread

Don't be delusional. The west holds more than enough economic power to sanction Russia to North Korea status. Yes, it will hurt them as well, but not as much. Especially if they act as a cohesive unit.

I beg to differ, the so called economic strength of the West is reliant on faith in the dollar and cornering of global resources at a discount, both of which are in play, Russia is not North Korea! If the 'West' can't get Africa and the Middle East in line then the economic house of cards will fall, MBS's comments that Iran will always be their neighbour so best to resolve our differences is a direct shot across the bow. While the American electorate might have the memory of a gold fish, the House of Saud evidently does not!

What China needs to do is play both sides for its own gain, which it is currently doing. There's no use in defiantly sticking with a cratered Russia.
China will buy lots of natural gas, oil and natural resources from Russia, then sell all kinds of industrial products and electronics to them.

Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk took China’s Ambassador to the U.S. for a drive in a Model S Plaid, an experience the passenger described as a “smooth ride.”
The diplomat, Qin Gang, shared photographs from the car on Twitter. He also posted a shot from a meeting with Musk, in which they discussed everything from cars to “stars in the sky” and “the meaning of life.”
