These are softwre companies.

There is close to 0 cost difference to sell the Facebook to 10000 or 1000 000 000 humans.

That is not true for making cars.

There is only a handful of major car manufacturers in the world.

The company that masters the technology of the EV before the others, it will be the same situation of winner take all, just like what happened in software.

It is still a business situation, a battle in that realm.

First mover advantage is really important here, and TELSA has the upper hand.

But the whole point of EVs is that they inherently require far less R&D for new companies to enter the industry.

This is not the ICE industry where established players had an unfathomably large moat from having their ICE engines being extremely complex

I agree with you on Tesla having the first mover advantage. However lets not forget that major competition is coming up in its major markets.

EU - VW has surprisingly.managed to start turning things around and will become Tesla's biggest competitor

China - An army of established and startup companies are gearing up to (relatively) dislodge Tesla from its position in the coming years

I am not saying that Tesla will disappear, but its first mover advantage might not be as significant as some people thought

All that we know is the Tesla evaluated currently for this much money.

Tomorrow unknown.

That is the real funny thing here.

It is Government Motors. That was the joke, that GM is not General Motors but Government Motors, because every time they go bankrupt, the government is there to bail them out.

I think it has happened at least twice in my lifetime, I forget, too busy laughing at it, lol.

Now with governments legislating the ICE out of existence in the next 15 years around the world, and if GM goes bankrupt again and needs another bail out, not sure that will be coming.

Government Motors went bankrupt before because they could not handle the past. How will Government Motors handle the future?

Chrysler did not survive, neither did Volvo.

It is unlikely Mr. Musk will personally give Government Motors a lifeline. That is up to the government.

:D

In 2020, U.S. GDP grew -3.5%, so overall, U.S. GDP grew (1-0.035)(1+0.055)% = 1.8% over 2020 and 2021.
In 2020, China's GDP grew 2.3%, so over all, China's GDP grew (1+0.023)(1.081)% = 10.58% over the same period. I'm not sure if RMB appreciation was factored in or not.

Official growth numbers from the Chinese government are always calculated in RMB year over year therefore the currency appreciation was not factored in.

I think the numbers are inflation adjusted, too, which means the norminal growth is even higher.
