I remember when I served on CVA-67 we transited the Atlantic between 12 and 16 knots. That's a slow grind in either case for the RN and USN.

It just takes a while in either case.I know in the USN case we conducted some limited flight ops on the way to the MED aboard CVA-67 & CV-66. Perhaps this page will give all of you some idea how long transit times are.

I'm sure you can figure out how to navigate. It is not an official USN page. It is done by a Japanese fan boi.
