I know when Gail and I went to Corpus Christi last year and visited the LExington, I had the same feeling.Our daughter Mollie visited the Midway with her Marine, and was So IMPRESSED with the old girl, she said "DAD I wish you could have been here"

I know when Gail and I went to Corpus Christi last year and visited the LExington, I had the same feeling.
She is an old World War II Esex class. But as she is, if she were fixed up and modernized with newer cats and electronics, almost any Navy in the world would be able to make use of her...if they had aircraft to go woth her.
The modernized Essex class carriers served for many decades, and weere aable of launching decent jet aircraft.
Anyhow...wonderful ships and I am glad there are several of those Museum Ships around.
