All the men sleeping on SSN or DDG's at sea, no night shift guarding PLA's nukes in Second Artillery, no night duty for Border Guards and Special Forces hunting for drug smugglers and separatist terrorists??

(you must be kidding...:D)

Besides though PRC officially has no time zones (Mao introduced Beijing Time as compulsory for the entire country in '49) effectively duty times of PLA are of course adjusted to geographic conditions. (PRC would have at least five 60 minute time zones if China would adopt a time zone partition similar to Russia or the US.)

Lol, I was kidding :D

It would be confusing to switch between the time zones though. (Flag raising in Beijing followed by early morning run in Xinjiang)

I would presume that under a normal circumstance that there is no live ammunition during a parade. But because of possible terrorism, it would be an embarrassing incident to have such a display of military power and have terrorists have their way without an immediate overwhelming response in return. I don't know if anyone here would know but would they completely rely on the police to respond or does the PLA have a certain percentage of the soldiers with live ammo ready?

same as 1999 parade, those female militia from Beijing Chaoyang municiple districts, CCTV reported there is a famous female model, she is very beautiful, but she also is a female militia, this time she is selected to attend the parade.

I heard that Zhang Yimou is in charge of choreography, he made the movie Hero (among others) and directed the Beijing Olympics ceremonies, so we can expect something spectacular.

Personally, I think it would be really cool if the parade began by sending out ancient Qin Dynasty era soldiers, and then soldiers with Han Dynasty equipment, Tang etc., moving up through the ages, all the way up to guys in 1940s PLA garb. Then, finally, with much fanfare ... the modern PLA appears! Tanks roll out, a bunch of jet fighters scream overhead ... you can't tell me you wouldn't get chills.

I think Zhang Yimou won't be responsble the military parade, he just responsple Tiananmen Square with colorful fine choreography when the parade going on,and after the military parade past, he responsible for a variety of choreography, parades....

there is never live ammo on parade and there wont be in the future. getting attacked by terrorists is one thing, getting shot by a soldier you are supposed to be inspecting is quite another. the security level inside and around Beijing is as high as it was during the olympics, Hebei province is described to be a bufferzone against terrorists from outside of that area. the "anti-terror,protect the capital" campaign goes as far as Guangdong province, on the day of the parade there will not be a single person on Tiananmen square that the security team does not know about.

Here's a link of the 9/21 air rehearsal but rather amateur and blurred, thought I saw Chinese AWACS, H6 and its tanker version (with fighters connected),JH-7, J8,J10,J11(or Su-27?), Z-8, Z-9, can't tell if the WZ-10 was there, and the finale was the K-8s operated by the first batch of the female fighter trainees.
