I have noticed a lot less coping from the western media about the parades this time. This particular video was quite good. They are coping a little bit about China's military being "untested" but they are not dismissing China' technological prowess any longer. They are concerned about China slowly leap frogging US in military tech.

I think the realization is hitting home.
keep in mind that Sam Roggevveen has always been quite realistic about China. If you actually watched some of the other videos online, it's still the usual obsessiveness over China's nuclear arsenal.

Following the dissolution of the Strategic Support Force last year, it has been established as an independent military branch.
Strategic Support "Force" and whoever succeeded it was and is called "兵种" not "军钟". The Chinese name for branch is 军种 and each branch is called X军, such as 陆军. 兵种 are types of troops/forces/units within each branches (军种), such as artellary, infantry and aerospace troops.

To see the difference, one must distinquish by Chinese words. Any forces ended with “部队" are types like infantry, artellary etc. including the "aerospace troops". Any forces ended with "军" is a branch.

The distinction is crystal clear in Chinese names “信息支援部队" (not a branch) and "火箭" (branch). The confusion is introduced by translating to English using "force" which is used in both classifications. The proper translation of "军事航天部队" should have been "military aerospace troops".
