I don't remember Kim Jong Un attended Moscow Victory day parade either, it's just how NK diplomacy works, should not be overthought of. Remeber, Kim Jong IL visited Beijing not Russia just before passing the power to Kim Jong Un. That is what really means, anything else is just superficial.

Too many foreign dignitaries that may ask Kim Jong Un questions especially if Western European ones show up. I don't know if they actually sent an invite to Trump after it was reported that China at these Sino/US trade talk meetings where the Chinese just sit there politely letting the US lay out its grievances saying nothing and that's it. After Trump's pathetic military parade, it might be embarrassing to dare to go.

Geopolitically speaking, so long as Putin shows up, that's what matters. It would be a sign of failed US efforts to split Moscow from Beijing, as well as EU's failure in pressuring Beijing to lesson support to Moscow. Historically speaking, it would be a sign of Moscow (one of the Big Three) supporting Beijing's interpretation of World War II and China's place in the post-war international order (meaning an indirect rejection of the San Francisco Treaty, which the US jettisoned China's place in exchange to favouring Japan, including the so-called undecided sovereignty and unresolved political status of Taiwan).
