What, 小舰长 somehow got himself a guest ticket to see the parade. On his ticket says under his name his position as "Taiwanese navy".
I personally think Taiwanese navy is inappropriate. ROC Navy would be more acceptable than Taiwanese navy.

苑举正 also got a ticket, but I think with him it's fair enough - his grandpa was a soldier in the 8th Route Army after all and he personally has always been strongly in support of reunification.
should have been "台湾水师“ as in "福建水师", ”南洋水师" and "北洋水师" like Qing dynasty. :D

If I have to choose I would prefer Taiwan Navy which can be interpreted as Taiwan provincial navy just like Fujian "navy" of Qing dynasty. Having a navy does not necessarily mean it is a country. However ROC certainly represents a country.

More seriously, why is there "navy"? He is not active service man. "Taiwan region" would be precise without room for misinterpretation.

Type 08 IFV (ZBL-08) with what appears to be additional flotation modules on the sides and front as well as a new bow flap/trim vane design.

I think the front piece is the deployable 防浪板 (wave ski) for high speed. See the same device in ZTL-05.
