should have been "台湾水师“ as in "福建水师", ”南洋水师" and "北洋水师" like Qing dynasty.View attachment 159686
What, 小舰长 somehow got himself a guest ticket to see the parade. On his ticket says under his name his position as "Taiwanese navy".
I personally think Taiwanese navy is inappropriate. ROC Navy would be more acceptable than Taiwanese navy.
苑举正 also got a ticket, but I think with him it's fair enough - his grandpa was a soldier in the 8th Route Army after all and he personally has always been strongly in support of reunification.
If I have to choose I would prefer Taiwan Navy which can be interpreted as Taiwan provincial navy just like Fujian "navy" of Qing dynasty. Having a navy does not necessarily mean it is a country. However ROC certainly represents a country.
More seriously, why is there "navy"? He is not active service man. "Taiwan region" would be precise without room for misinterpretation.
