i think its a bit more mechanical than that. from a statecraft standpoint i think she can say whatever she wants if her audience doesnt know the difference. when the need is to communicate an adversarial attitude towards formerly-aligned powers, invoking actual ww2 history would only be confusing to an audience for whom it would be a faint myth at this point anyway. millenials are probably the last generation that might have given a shit about ww2; i think the succeeding generations hardly know or care about it and they're the ones that will be taking on the mantle of any future conflicts.
'historical truth' is and will never be a real objective of any state. rather it is a mechanism to build the authority and trust needed to serve a higher objective which will always be the same -- securing the future existence of the state. when truth fails to serve that objective, then expect the truth to be changed.
Just a thought:what is planned for the Oct1 National Day?Another big parade?H20?
There won't be any further parades this year. In fact, there won't be any for 2026 either.
The closest next military parade (which is meant to celebrate the centennial of the PLA) will be in 2027.
The National Day parade will be held in 2029.

there's definitely some haze visible even from the ground level, you can see how obscured the 5 ship of j-20s are.
the footage was especially bad in low angle topdown shots where you could see the smog lying low across the city.
