2025 Israel - Iranian conflict

Regarding why Iran (if they knew anything) didn't attack the supposed Israel bases in Azerbaijan, think about it.

Israel hasn't publicly announced any off shore bases that it has. This gives a plausible deniability by Israel if any of those bases being targeted, not to mention the entire Western media narrative fully back Israel's endeavour.

Not to mention striking Azerbaijan would incur the wrath of Turkey, which is the last thing the Iranians would have wanted.

What if the said refugee numbers millions?

They aren’t part of the country and neither are they from there or are they citizens. Why should legal immunity be granted if a sufficient amount of people enter a country illegally? If a sufficient amount of Indians squat in Tibet then are they now legally immune from deportation?

I am not even disagreeing with you, I just do not understand what are you trying to dispute here.

Attempting to displace millions of illegal migrants, locate them, round them up, possibly violently, then deport them in mass I consider ethnic cleansing, even if somewhat justified. Maybe you are disputing the exact definition of ethnic cleansing, but it is irrelevant. You understand what I am trying to convey, that is enough.

Iran was already on track to deport 1 million afghans this year before the conflict. So instead of taking 2.5 years to deport all undocumented afghans refugees. It will take 1 year to deport them all. Except one scenario is ethnic cleansing but the other is not despite the end goal being all undocumented afghan refugees being deported.

Would ICE deportations going on in the US under Trump also fit your definition?

There is not enough North Koreans illegals to meaningfully affect China's ethnic composition. Maybe thousands at best?
So only the relative numbers of people deported vs the base population matter? You dont think the fact that the people being deported crossed into the country illegally matters?

Where did I say I support illegal immigration, if that is what you are implying?

And yes number matters. Afghan refugee is a significant population to total population of Iran, and so is Latinos in US. I consider any forceful measure to significantly alter certain ethnic composition as cleansing. Illegal migrants or not it dont matter.

If native Americans can somehow deport all white people from the continent, I would call it ethnic cleansing too, even if they are the 'illegal migrants'.
