its all about pride and dignity. i don't think Russia will ever buy any military equipment from China that too a fighter aircraft..

I agree with the conclusion but have to disagree with the reasoning which many people believe in. Take China for example, China insisted on making Flanker fully domesticated. The point is 100% self-reliance in weapons. For a country on this level (Russia included), supply chain in own hand is a must, one only allow foreign supplies if one physically control or occupy the supplier/country, or as a short-term solution. Russia is simply doing the same thing that China does.

better for Russian to take not some but bigger help
In rearming or get it up to date their one and only ACC
asap, then the rest of the menu can be served on that
ACC plater either a aircraft or by the time it’s restored may
be couple of KJ 600 on the menu too

Interesting finding: the CM-98 (based on the AKF98) is capable of targeting naval vessels. It implies that a Sino-LRASM might be in the works.

One of our more esteemed departed members stated it was the case back when it emerged a couple of years ago, that there were already multiple variants of it that existed including in an anti shipping role.

GIven when AKF98 first emerged and knowing it was in service for a couple years prior to 2022 already, my read is that multiple variants of it (including an anti ship variants) likely is already in service
