Russia can buy components

This would be very smart!

You can see this trend in their(Russian) made CNC machines. I've seen some using Chinese CNC controllers and probably other parts. Nobody is saying that they can't/shouldn't develop their own in parallel (which I think they should), but it would be safer and quicker than using western alternatives or waiting to develop theirs.

Interesting finding: the CM-98 (based on the AKF98) is capable of targeting naval vessels. It implies that a Sino-LRASM might be in the works.

Would be quite useful to have Sino-JASSM and Sino-LRASM. Not every nail needs to be hit by a sledgehammer.

These type of (V)LO subsonic cruise missiles can be used:
- For wasting precious enemy SAMs, AAMs and CIWS munitions in swarm attacks before actual strikes against key enemy targets with more powerful and expensive supersonic/hypersonic missiles are conducted; and/or
- For actual strikes against key enemy targets that are poorly defended once the enemy's integrated defense systems has been sufficiently degraded by preceding strikes with more powerful and expensive supersonic/hypersonic missiles; and/or
- For mop-up strikes against any remaining targets.

If anything, beyond the use of actual military warplanes (manned or unmanned) - China is actually more suited as a user of Rapid Dragon-type missile system than the US, given the absolute richness of targets within and along the entirety of the 1IC.

One of the aspects lie with China's presently booming unmanned cargo UAV industry and market. Those suitably-sized cargo UAVs with rear-opening cargo ramp doors (e.g. W5000, CH-YH1000) should be well-suited for such tasks with minimal or no additional retrofitting required.

This should help freeing up the airlifter fleets of the PLAAF for more important airlifting missions.

The Russian Navy plan is to replace the Su-33 with the Su-57K but that will not be happening any time soon.
There were also proposals to modernize the electronics of the existing Su-33 airframes but that seems to have gone nowhere.

It was a joke! … my point is, yesterday we saw the vice head of CMC sitting in the Su-57 and immediately a few nerds went crazy and claimed „China will purchase some“ … and here - even if it would make much more sense - none claims it (for good reason).

Yeah. For what it's worth I think the J-35 would have been a decent choice but the Russian MIC won't allow a purchase like that to happen.
Rostec and Chemezov would be fuming.

For the love of all the gods, now The National Interest has FIVE articles about the 'White Emperor'. Have they gone completely insane over there?

... and while the last headline looks sane, the author argues that it is an attempt to 'psych out the West'.
