Unless anyone here is from Pakistan or has actually spent time in Pakistan or keeps an eye on Pakistani politics; sorry to say but all of you know jack about Pakistan or Pak politics.

A US-instigated coup that the military took active part in, thinking that daddy US would bail out Pakistan with IMF.

As we can all see, it blew up in their faces. With the coup complete, Pakistan's economy and exports tanked, their currency has about halved in value (compared to US dollars).

To sum up, giving control of your intelligence agency to the military has been a gigantic mistake, which is actually funny in its own way because any casual reading of world history would have told them that.

China sincerely wants to develop Pakistan but their military wants to keep some balance with US relations even after everything the US has done against Pakistan

IK's arrest has been expected, I am actually surprised it took them that long. He was the first Pakistan leader in decades who finally started showing results on economic development. Not empty rhetoric but actual results. Of course the treasonous military couldn't handle that and his foreign policy so they couped him with daddy US' blessing. As a result, we can all see what happened with Pakistan now

Its a sad story for Pakistan people. First time in decades they had some hope that Pakistan was developing, and that hope was extinguished by their "protectors", the military. Quite ironic, if I may say

IK is a favorite of the western world and had a negative impact on CPEC.

That's because the Pakistani elite are all invested either in the Gulf states or in the UK/US/CA/AU. They don't actually care about what's best for their own country. They only care about personal enrichment.

The previous COAS (Chief of Army Staff) of Pakistan, Bajwa, had a couple of brothers who all apparently ran a bunch of Domino's Pizza joints in the US. This is how petty the elite in Pakistan is.

The lesson for China would be that it's a country you can't trust because the elite is thoroughly corrupt and bought off by Western interests. The most popular politician, Imran Khan, is not but he's also without much support among the army and the ISI.

Throwing more money into Pakistan when large parts of its elite are bought off by Western interests is a mistake. Better focus on ASEAN or other countries.

He had a negative CPEC impact but he changed Hus mind afterwards.

As for "favourite of the western world", sure. That's why he was couped by the US...

LoL he fell out with his backers and they withdraw support, no such conspiracy and the MSS has enough eyes and eyes in Pakistan that it was well informed well in advance of IK govt falling.

Hahahahahah the PRC has enough far sight to its own national interests and helping a friendly country like Pakistan to keep India occupied with its limited resources pays back multiples of what is payed in.

Indeed. Helping Pakistan develop is a strategic decision that China has taken long time ago.
Nevermind Pakistan's politics, as long as it is not a full US vassal, China will keep supporting it and trying to make it richer and stronger.

The issue I have is that due to its unstable political system, China's help can't do as much as it could in a stable country
