Speaking of Summer Britcher, watching the team luge event was the most fun I've had in a while. Nice to see China participating in team luge for I think the first time ever?

China also saw its first ever athlete participating in Nordic combined.

I'm genuinely surprised Japan has no sledding athletes. Lack of bravery and courage? Lol

Those Koreans are now complaining about the food, claiming it's too oily and tastes bad. But the food isn't from the canteen & robots, there are reports that the food served to Korean athletes was from Korean chefs as the Korean Olympic Committee sent in their own chefs and setup a kitchen nearby.

In any case, and interestingly, we have the Japanese coming to our defense after reading the reports of Koreans complaining about food; Japanese athletes have told Japanese media that the food provided by Beijing organizers is pretty good, and with the only issues being: not to over eat in order to stay within weight limits, and price of the food is a bit expensive.

Furthermore no other team/nation has complained about the food from the canteen. Koreans are just trying to stir up shit.

I think everyone (especially chinese propaganda department) is giving Ailing Gu too much attention unless they are just rubbing it in now while the rubbing is good and will forget about it in a few years, it will look silly when she decides to keep her us citizenship AND compete for the US in 4 years.

In a way, I feel like it is still somewhat western worshipping because besides her name/speaking mandarin, she seems mostly western.. ie lifestyle, appearance , etc. It seems like they are promoting her more than the other males that medaled.

She is popular because she is pretty much an American who accepts Chinese values in the current political climate. That said, her sponsor group is very well funded.

Just remember that she'll lose out from Chinese sponsorships if she goes with the US in 4 years time.

And this is a lot more money than she will get from going with the US team.
