LOL. If China spends less on the Olympics, they'll quote Gordon Chang that China is on a decline. If USA spends more next time, they'll say that the US is still top dog. Why do they want China to spend less on the Olympics anyway? Should China spend some of that money on the PLA then? That'll scare them even more.
Bbbbuttt AT WHAT COST? $38BILLION now cry about it.

All the bad press in the Western and China-hating media is not stumbling the Beijing Winter Olympics. It has been counter-productive overall.

A record number of viewers are watching the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Yiannis Exarchos, CEO of Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), said on Thursday.

The number of people watching the Games on the official website olympics.com has so far exceeded 45 million, more than the entire run of the 2018 edition in Pyeongchang.

Beijing 2022 is already the most-viewed Winter Olympics in China ever, China Daily also reported.

Beijing 2022 has become the most viewed Winter Games ever in China. The number of viewers on the official website has hit over 45 million within one week. That's more than the entire run of PyeongChang 2018.

As the Western media spews more hate on the Beijing Olympics, Chinese people started to get more patriotic and got more interested in the Winter Olympics. The neutrals start to get more curious than usual and tuned into the games to see what all the hate is about. More stories are written on the games because of the propaganda war being waged on both sides. So this draws in more attention than usual.

If this Winter Olympics was held in Sweden for example, it won't get the bad press. But it'll be just your standard Olympics. So the Western media have only themselves to blame for hyping up the Beijing Winter Olympics. I think there won't be anymore winter Olympics after this that'll be as interesting to follow.

Nevertheless, this Winter Olympics has certainly awoken the Chinese people's appetite for winter sports. China is historically not a powerhouse in Winter Games. But Team China has already achieved its best ever medal count in any Winter Olympics, with their recent 6th gold medal. So things should get better for them from here on.

Franky I do agree with that video . Not that China can't afford. But because in recent years the Olympics have been including sports that should not be there at the Olympics. Don't listen to the video but only look at the title. Horse racing , surfing , skateboard and luge should be removed.

Twenty years ago when the debate whether to end affirmative action was a big top that even Democrats entertained it, I remember watching a local TV news story on affirmative action and they were reporting from the UC Berkeley campus and they interviewed a self-described Korean-American student on campus and he said he agreed there are too many Asians at UC Berkeley. Well then... leave. But of course he wasn't talking about himself.
But how come such "progressive ideas" aren't applied into sports where the vast majority of participants are predominantly from the African-American population and where the Asian-American population aren't fully represented that reflects not only their relative population but also the economic contribution they bring to American sports, more specifically basketball where the largest non American market for the NBA are actually in Asia (China, Philippines).

I don't see any Asian-American parents making demands for "equal representation" nor have I seen any "human rights" and equality rabble rousers coming out forcefully making a case for Asian representation in Athletics. I mean, if you want less Asian participations in academics maybe try to lure enough of them to participate in sports where historically they have been cast aside and discriminated against as "not athletic enough, not tall or big enough" which are criticisms that are actually quite racist.;):p

Wow, just wow. New low for NYT. Sadly, these kinds of articles are usually written by Chinese female journalists.

GT hit back at NYT over that rubbish piece by Amy Qin.
So much for the: "We don't hate the Chinese people, we only hate the CCP!" bull crap. Now the NYT is nakedly attacking the Chinese people. And they had to outsource the writing to an Asian, so that her white masters don't get the backlash. Very cheeky.

Its getting increasingly easy to debunk the Western media lies. Its too easy to expose their racism, no matter how many sellout Asians they wanna hide behind.

Not sure Nikki has a shot of being a Republican nominated or not but Nikki is aiming for China like Marco and DeSantis. Each of them would outdo the others to be as anti-China as possible.

Would that ignoramus be saying that if say one of her kids represented mother India in an Olympic event knowing the alleged "Human rights abuses" leveled against India for Kashmir, the mistreatment of Muslim minorities of 200 million, caste communal system, the rampant rape against women, lack of access to clean air, and clean water, not to mention extreme hunger, and lack of environmental protection etc...

Nikki Haley can stay Jai Hind and she's still not going to become the next U.S. President.

Wasn’t Nikki Haley the one who was shocked that Chinese representatives at the UN actually dared to talk back to her? Maybe she expected them to stay meek and submissive like most Asian Americans?

There should be an investigative report looking into why whites are overrepresented in population in lands traditionally dominated by native / aboriginal populations
