More evidence Valieva is being smeared by Westerners
I do not know how true the Valieva doping allegations are. But the West has a habit of smearing Russia and China, and then handing out unjust punishments. So I'm willing to believe that Valieva is innocent until proven guilty.

Both Valieva and Zhu Yi have been on the receiving end of some really bad press from the West and their minions.

This dumb article by the Guardian blames the controversies of Valieva and Zhu Yi on their respective countries. Russia, for doping Valieva, and China, for bullying Zhu Yi.

Both Russian and Chinese athletes have been unjustly targeted by the Western media, and their names have been somewhat tarnished. Russian athletes are accused of doping. While Chinese athletes are accused of becoming CCP showpieces.

The problem is that, once a negative reputation is set, it is quite hard to shake it off. Even if Valieva is cleared of any doping charges, there would still be suspicions about her. A number of figure skaters including Kim Yuna, the former South Korean figure skater have already accused Valieva of being a cheat, even when investigations are ongoing. Zhu Yi will have the reputation of being a US traitor, and a loser who had failed China. Her confidence in the competition is noticeably shakened by the haters in China, and their amplification by the Western MSM. Not everyone is as mentally strong as Eileen Gu, and the Western MSM took advantage of a negative situation in China.

Valieva was/is doping. There is nothing to argue in this. She failed a test.

The question is why it took so long for official results to come out. From what I have read the test lab prioritized COVID tests and as a result her test was delayed.

Anyway, cheaters shouldn't be allowed to compete

"Without permission, no one may use the Olympic symbols for commercial purposes," Chang said, noting that bakeries and café shops need to be authorized to sell Bing Dwen Dwen-shaped commodities for commercial purposes, or they will be punished by the market authorities.

On Saturday, a bakery shop in Ningbo, Zhejiang was found to have been selling Bing Dwen Dwen shaped cakes without authorization for commercial use, and the bakery would face an administrative penalty after investigation.
I understand that IP needs to be protected, but this is looks quite harsh from the Chinese authorities. I can understand this for toymakers, merchandize, and media. But for bakeries and cafes c'mon man. Getting fined for selling Bing Dwen Dwen shaped cakes without authorization is frankly quite ridiculous. This kind of thing should be celebrated. If they need to go through the proper authorization process, by the time they get it, the Winter Olympics would be long over.

For decades, bakeries have been making Mickey Mouse and Pikachu cakes around the world. They are not getting sued by Disney and Nintendo for using their IPs. These kinds of IPs are historically not super regulated for small F&B outlets. If I could order a Captain America shield shaped b-day cake from a local baker, would it be appropriate if I get sued by Disney for this?

Innocent until proven guilty. The investigation is still ongoing. There has been a lot of Western witch hunting against Russian athletes over the years. We must be wary of the evidence that has been presented so far.

Agreed. The IOC cleared Valieva. She was found with heart medications which her grandfather was using.

I wouldn't jump and accuse her of doping for being Russian.

Since IOC cleared her, pause for thought.
