They lost to Japan 7-6 a few days ago so it's more like a coin flip. US women's basketball is 95% beating Japan, though.

Basketball and baseball are invented and native to US. China doesn't even have native sports in the Olympics like US or Europe has, yet China still dominates, from US-designed IQ tests to European established sports formats.
So India gets silver in golf? Dang it's one of the least likely sports I can think of for India to medal in. Other being Equestrian
China has demonstrated that it can win if it focuses. No matter the rules, China can win. Let's hope medals come for China in Baseball, Basketball etc in the future.
The Chinese golfer ( women) is in the 7th spot. Not bad. With a bit of luck and much Hard work victory is possible in the future.

I'm surprised by India's performance here. Good for them. Can't boo them considering the situation is beyond any booing. It's a pity actually.
Money helps definitely but it has to be complemented with strong work ethic. Look at India , they have billions of dollars of sports infrastructure but they barely win couple of medals. Even Sanctioned, impoverished North Korea outperform them.
I believe they are at Silver right now. The Olympic table isn't sorting correctly.
Ah OK. I didn't follow golf play today but at end of yesterday the Indian lady was 2nd place. I guess play resumed and she dropped a place.
Definitely not saying to boo her. She did it fair and square. Just more surprised than anything. With the level of poverty there plus I didn't know there are many golf courses in India. Or maybe she did her training in US.
