Yikes. How did this incompetent woman get employed at CCTV? Should be sacked ASAP .

That article was written by an foreign loving China basher. Just take a look at her other articles, all written to nitpick minor issues and trying to make them seem like some kind of fundamental problem in China. This article was no different.

For example, the article says the interviewer called her a "manly girl". I suspect that is a deliberate translation of "女汉子", which is a common term of endearment for women who are confident and straightforward.

How is Japan so strong in female skateboarding? Even the bronze medallist is part japanese. They are very young.

Sports climbing is interesting. You would think a certain body physique is suitable for this sports but some climbers are so lightweight and skinny, some pretty buff with a muscular back and others with normal body type.

There is a big pool to tap into there. When I was living in Yokohama, plenty of boarder kids playing around the buildings trying tricks and that. I would have thought there might be some up and coming Chinese ones too. When I was in Qingdao, they are always there at the Olympic yacht place. But then again, thinking back, in China, most of the ones I saw were filming tiktok videos...
Saw the news in Aus today, there is a little 7 year old Japanese Australian kid wanting to have a run at the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. Success definitely influences the future generations!

Hahaha You guys should hear the Australian commentary on Chanel 7 Lmao. It was so bad. I could feel the bitterness
Jus want to give more details on some of the bad aussie commentary. It was pretty fun hearing them having to swallow their bitterness.

In the women's 4x200m swim freestyle relay, where aus was heavily favoured. During the third leg, Zhang Yufei was lagging the Australian swimmer by small distance. The female commentator at this time was saying Zhang just finished the 200m butterfly and should be feeling the tiredness in her legs. She will slow down right now. Instead, she caught up to the Aussie swimmer and overtook her. After this, the commentator went silent for a long while lol.

During the 4x100m men's track relay, they never once mentioned the Chinese team even though it's fairly obvious they were leading the race. Instead the commentators just hyped up the Americans and Canadians(?). Only until the last moment they were forced to mention Chinese team lol. Probably saying with gritted teeth.

And the diving commentary, I thought It was fine overall actually. But the commentator then mentioned Quan is an unknown before this. She never competed internationally before. And can't find anything in the internet about Chinese competitions she took part in.

Which is complete BS. If you are diligent enough and not totally dumb, you can easily find Chinese national diving competitions on YT. Even if you know Chinese language, you dun even need to use google translate to search. If you view some competition diving videos, YT will recommend Chinese diving competitions automatically. And you can definitely see Quan in the most recent Chinese nationals competitions. It's not even hard to locate her, she finished in the top 5. Alot of misunderstanding about Chinese comes from westerners being lazy and not bothering to do their research or get to know about china better.

US matches to watch out for tomorrow, possible gold chances

Womens beach volleyball finals

Womens volleyball finals

Womens basketball semifinals

All taking place around morning/afternoon local time

I think the final gold medal tally will be close, probably within one or two medals.

14-yr old Quan Hongchan does the perfect dive... perfect score.

I thoroughly enjoyed the semifinals and finals for the women's 10 metre diving. As with the 3 metre diving, there was both a superb Chinese diver who comfortably took silver (Wang Han in the 3m, Chen Yuxi in the 10m), and then another Chinese diver who seemed to exist in a realm of perfection standing apart from all other competitors: Shi Tingmao in the 3m and Quan Hongchan in the 10m.

I know nothing about diving, but with all the fuss the commentators make about a "rip" entry minimising the amount of water that is thrown up, I do wonder if Quan Hongchan appearing to be about half the size of many of her competitors gives her an advantage in that respect.

I was also pleased to see Melissa Wu of Australia receive the bronze medal in the 10m diving, she seemed very happy with the result. Apparently her father is of Chinese descent. And as always one feels for the athletes who just fall short, often as the result of one poor dive. More than most events, diving is a matter of perfect execution across a span of moments, and the distance between success and failure is vanishingly slight.

For some reason I'm not so much interested in the Men's diving. ;)

Colombia should protest the decision. Not only did their contestant get robbed of a medal but this decision could potentially endanger the Japanese contestant.

and his administrations in desperate measures now - 1. Hosting the game against majority of Japanese will, 2. Getting one of the worst opening viewership, 3. Explosion of COVID case in Tokyo, So the only way to salvage their decision to host Olympic is to be on top of medal count , with so many of their "high profile" athletics didn't make the cut(not to mention a medal) and falling so much behind China in medal ranking, the only way now is to rob other nations of Gold through systematic cheatings. He knows only by strong showing in ranking especially against China they may salvage some support from some Japanese for their coming election.

They need to cheat to win, like bribing the Indian judge.

So theoretically, every IOC keeps 3 copies of flags for each participating nation at every venue/facility (e.g. main stadium, swimming facility, gymnastics facility, equestrian, etc...) since some venues/facilities can be separated by miles or kilometers, and events can run concurrently.

Realistically, only a handful of nations can do two or three sweeps at the medal podium (China, US, "Russian Moscow" etc...)

What an enormous waste of space. 3 Indian flags...probably moldy from decades of lack of usage.

I love how you think about the Indian flag. I never thought of it that way. Lol

In some of the disciplines, they only need to keep two flags....... because of the quotas system!

Hair and make up can make a world of difference in a lady's overall complexion.

Yes, that's true. But in this case, it just simply hair that makes the difference from a tomboy to a cute young lady. I hope you agree?
