Russia took care of D. Ragan just now. No gold for the US. 1 down, 2 to go.USA has:
R. Torrez Jr in Men's super heavyweight finals
D. Ragan in Men's featherweight Final
K. Davis in Men's lightweight Semi-finals
O. Jones in Women's welterweight semi-finals lost to China
China has:
Gu Hong in Women's welterweight Finals
Li Qian in Women's middleweight Semi-finals
So 3 more gold chances for US and 2 more for China. Now that I list it it doesn't seem so bad for China
Holy crap China just got first in heat 2 of the 4x100m relay mens while US didn't qualify for finals
Hahaha You guys should hear the Australian commentary on Chanel 7 Lmao. It was so bad. I could feel the bitterness
Yes you are right. In the track national championship this year, Chen guanfeng ran a 10:06s to win. 2nd placed won in 10:11s. I'm not sure, did they ran in the heats?I recall in the Chinese national trials two 100m runners ran a fast PB of 10.06 and 10.1x. Together with Su and Xie, these 2 runners will probably be among the top picks for the finals.
It was a beast performance. Considering the amount of pressure and the fact it's her first Olympics actually her first international competition of any kind. She really did well. The 14 & 15 year old girls were absolutely amazing in the 10m today..
Was that the record score by Quan??? It was like 4 perfect dives (well technically 2) and 1 great dive in the 5. She basically had it bagged after 4 round, and had a 40pt lead on her compatriot at the end. Average score was like above 90 each dive!!!
There is also a young runner Yan Haibin who was third in national championships. They decided to bring Yan Haibin along with the team, but not Chen guanfeng.Yes you are right. In the track national championship this year, Chen guanfeng ran a 10:06s to win. 2nd placed won in 10:11s. I'm not sure, did they ran in the heats?
