Baltics? Slovakia, the Czech Republic?

God bless and keep you guys.

Finland. Though our country has done various military purchases in past few months...

- 100 Leopard 2 A6's from Netherlands.

- 40-60 Spike ATGM launchers from Netherlands. These will be modernized to same standard as our current Spike ER launchers.

- Stringer MANPADS from US.

- Yesterday they announced that FDF will buy GPS guided 155mm "Bonus" artillery shells.

Who does the Ukraine military listen to? The government that was vote in by the street protest movement or the government that was vote in by the people?
The Ukrainian military (God bless 'em) already showed what they would do when they refused to follow a President that we usurping power and wanted them to kill their own citizens.

That man has now been legally impeached, according to the constitution of Ukraine...and justifiably so. He is no longer the President there. He is no longer the issue. That bird has already flown the cage.

God bless you guys there.

As we say here in the states...at least from those who still know what is worth fighting for...mind your knot, and always check six.

Sounds like you guys are already doing that.

The point remains though, that at this point, there is no clear indication that the Ukrainian military is willing and ready to obey the orders of the new government. I do not think it's a stretch to say that there may be dividing loyalties.

Yes, the Ukraine already issued a warrant for his arrest. But unless he waltzes into Kiev, they will never get him. He will be able to be save in the Crimea and Russia for as long as he wants.

All the blustering is not going to change the loss of the Crimea. Putin out maneuvered Obama (easily) and everyone else, and he has it back now. Trying to dislodge him there at this point would be a fool's errand.

The goal posts have been moved. Now the Ukraine must establish its military in as strong a position as they can on the rest of their borders (including the Crimea) and force Putin to come through them. If the US and NATO began ferrying advisors, material, trainers, and their own security forces into the Ukraine right now...to the various major airports and cities...they may save the rest of the Ukraine.

If they do nothing...they will be giving Putin, in essence IMHO, a green light...and he damn well may take it.

"Tell Vlad, I'll have more flexibility, after the election", that's an apt statement from a man who's in over his head!

President Obama has continued to show just how much he continually underestimates the powers and factors of Global politics and overestimates his own Influence.
For the Ukraine the Situation is now a perfect storm. The Deep divides of the nation may have broken any chance of defence. The Ukraine is basically a state in Full civil war. it's armed forces have to be divided along the same lines as those of the Civil populous. The only way the Ukrainian military could truly hold off Russia is if they had a united force, but as it stands it's highly unlikely that the Ukraine could forge any proper defence.

It's not so much President Obama himself that's been dragging his boots in the mud, it's his foreign policy advisers that are failing him. Remember most Presidents gets their professional opinions and possibles actions from them and these guys were supposed to be top notch thinkers graduated in Ivy League schools and work experience credentials and such.

If Russia were to launch intervention against organized Uranian military resistance, and win, it would be a huge blow to the prestige of the EU, as well as the US.

It seems unlikely main members of the EU would be in favor of another Cold War style military containment and roll back of Russian gains in Ukraine.

What options could the EU and US feasibly pursue to reverse this loss of prestige relative to Russia?
