Hard to judge size from the model, but looks more like an Astute sized or even larger boat from the size of the pump jet.

The CG model is probably fan made. It just doesn't make much sense, with its big LVS well taking up the best real estate on the sub, which is sorely needed for the propulsion section. It can't work at all for a steam turbine powered and nuclear fueled submarine. It might work for electric powered (and battery or nuclear fueled) submarine but even then it's just unlikely. It's too small.

Now I posted this photo long time ago I am pretty certain this Turbo Generator is intended for Submarine
I did posted a calculation for power requirement of bluff body with 15 m diameter going thru water with 30 knot speed It come up something like 40 MW
This turbo generator look compact and has 20 MW capacity so 2 of them will satisfy IEPS submarine Any comment ?

The first Chinese class 20MW generator for ships has passed its qualification successfully. The project is developed by the CSIC Institute 704. According to the statement, its use in the military is almost certain.

What drives the generator?
It looks like a turbine , but there is no intake /exhaust .
The pipework looks like natural gas .
Maybe the air intake is from bellow?
the generator cooling is on the top, it doesn't looks like a compact submarine thingy.

It is a steam turbine driven generator.
The right unit is a small [steam turbine.

This is the motor/generator pack for the USA naval ships.

The cooling is not on the top of the motor, and they tried to keep it as cylindrical as possible.

The big hump on the above generator on testbed must be the cooler, they integrate it by this way usually for the small power plant , to save money and time.

The left side of photo is the electric generator It is cooled by helium normally in civilian application
Yes it is small turbine that drive it on right side of the photo Above it is the steam manifold fed by steam generator(a kind of heat exchanger) which in turn receive heat from small reactor It is not shown here This is a prototype fed by conventional boiler to mimic nuclear reactor

the whole turbo generator is very compact ! 20 Mw civilian generator is huge. The original photo have maintenance people, engineer next to it to give a way to measure it
The whole turbo generator is about the 1-1/2 the size of blue generator sans turbine on your photo
