Activity this morning.

The 093A from the north pier has gone out to sea. Same three tugs involved.

Second AIS from the exact time the Sentinel imagery was collected. No high res available.

Note also the east dry dock is now empty, but there's no further submarines in the basin at the piers, therefore the one in the dry dock the other day has likely been taken into the sheds.

And here's imagery for 16 October 2025

At the western side from top to bottom:
093A north side of pier (measured for confirmation)
093B south side of pier (measured for confirmation)
094
094 moved from dry dock
Following a day spent going through the historic AIS data, it made me check the 16 October imagery again.

In particular I wanted to look at the the boat on the north side of the pier, and following some harder sharpening and better zooming, it's more like a 093B and not a 093A. You can also see what potentially looks like the VLS section (18 hatches - 3 x 6) and the ridge lines down the hull.

My only thoughts are that what looks like the VLS is actually a difference in hull colour caused by the hump in the 093A. The shadow doesn't show a hump though.

Therefore, it was possibly a 093B that went out this morning (UTC) as it was from this pier that it departed.

That still doesn't answer the missing boat that was in the east dock as there does only appear to be one in the basin in the low res Sentinel imagery this morning.

One final thing I've noticed from the AIS data.

It looks like they move things around between 0000 and 0300 UTC (0800 - 1100 local).

For instance, here they moved something to the dock on the 29th September between 0100 and 0300 UTC. They went to the 094 thats visible in the 28th satellite imagery, so maybe dragged that in.

The next day it looks like something went out at the same times. From that position it is the 093B that arrived on the 28th in the satellite imagery.

From all the work today, I've started to establish a pattern of how they work. Hu Gang 1, for instance looks like it goes to pick personel or equipment up before heading out, and then drops them/it off again.

OK, so where does that all leave us on the estimated number of 093B launched to date?
I still don't think there's been any new ones since February. But we can't be far off one.

I'm still going through all the AIS data for the last month or so. Obviously there's tonnes of it.

I might give up for a while - it's hurting my head :D

Knowing how they move the subs near me and that it is generally high tide (ish) - not all the time I hasten to add - its worth keeping an eye on the tides for Huludao too.

They do coincide with high tide for this morning for instance. I can't look back at the previous ones.
