How much does it cost to buy one fairly recent, fairly ok resolution image from Airbus DS, such as those images you showed here recently?

Depends on what account you have. I can't give a definite answer because every supplier is different.

Put it this way though, it costs money, regardless how much, and using the imagery without credit is s***.

I stopped doing my blogs after a newspaper here in the UK stole all my imagery and words for which they received a lot of money for.

I switched to spending more time on the professional side of analysis and so will concentrate on that. I get paid or it, after all.

I've worked freelance for Janes for 15 years. And others (say no more)

Airbus, for example, have a minimum 5000 Euro up front cost per year, from which you then take the same amount in credits.

If you're the first to download an image this could take around 100 - 120 credits for Huludao as a whole. If someone else has already done it then it would be roughly half that.

Go to the likes of SkiFy or Earthcache then the initial 100 credit is likely to be considerably more (though you haven't put the 5k in up front). But most have a minimum area you can download - Planet for example 25 square kilometres. For Huludao this would be well over $1000 for a single image

hope that helps

It does, thanks. Airbus DS always seemed complicated with their pricing. I have so far seriously looked at only at skywatch/earthcache and I must say those seem more affordable. Huludao pics, from september or even early october, can be found for like $200. Decent resolution, too.

If you have $200 to spare to share for free then that's good

By the way, they're all complicated if you get the images direct. It's better value though.

I had a quick look at the Maxar imagery that you found and it's a lot more on Skywatch than direct.

As an example - I've been working on an other area using Airbus and I can select whatever area I want. I was downloading imagery for just 2 Euros.

To get the same from Skywatch was $100.

Unfortunately - for this forum anyway - I shall no longer be posting any imagery.

Having seen my recent satellite imagery plastered all over X/Twitter with ZERO credit - and being used incorrectly by stating new 094s have been launched too - it's an easy decision for me to make. I only posted the images here so this is the source of the problem.

I tested the waters - the waters were bad.
Hi,
just a little of topic, I’ll encourage you to keep on posting here with using some kind of water mark of
your own for the benefit of members like me who can get good info from your postings & is there anyway
you can stop these images circulating further then been posted here or wherever you have posted yourself
previously
thank you

You know there are a ton of lurkers here from online media and the alphabets agencies. They can easily download and copy paste everything you post.
