Does anyone know the context of this image? Is this an official exhibit? If so, where is it?

Somewhat interesting indeed, and additional context is needed.

That said the art looks somewhat similar with the mystery model from last year that has been attributed to 09IIIB in broad stroke details, though one of the differences of course is the VLS tubes here seems to show a column of 8 tubes (unknown number of total columns), whereas the model showed a column having 6 tubes

It may be that this art is based off the model or vice versa.

.... so provisionally I'm gonna move these last few posts to the 09III thread.

Love to know more information about the pump jet and reactor, especially whether the new reactor burns LEU, HALEU, or HEU, how many years before refueling, etc.

Jumping the gun a bit there.

Probably more important to establish (which at this stage we cannot yet establish) is what it is actually meant to be depicting and whether it's even real in the first place.

This cutaway illustration is from museum of Harbin Engineering University, There is also a 094 or 094B model in the show room as well.

It put another nail on debate of authenticity of the model which is commissioned by 702nd Institute. I mean hardly anyone knows of 702nd Institute let alone make many fake model with their label on.

So that means the supposed model of the 093B SSN with 6 VLS tubes in 3 rows is actually fake?

I mean to say the model is very likely to be real. Sorry for misunderstanding though.

Looking more closely at the art and the previous model, it does seem like the art imitates every aspect of the model fairly closely, with the exception of the missile tubes being 8 per column rather than 6 per column on the model.

But everything else -- the proportions, the sail, the diving planes, the tail and pumpjet, hull geometry, all seems like it is based off the model, or vice versa, or both are based off a same original design or article... though given the detail on the model I'm inclined to think the first option.

I wonder if the difference in missile tube count per column is a case of artistic license (or even artistic mistake), given everything else is so consistent with the model.

But either way, I agree this is definite additional weight to reinforce that the model from last year is significant in one form or another, and I think we are all eager to get some better pictures of the two (or three) nuclear submarines we suspect to be 09IIIB hat were launched over last year/this year, and to see if the details of them are consistent with the model/art. Even if we can't get detailed pictures of it from the ground (which aren't likely to happen any time soon), if there are satellite pictures of them that can catch any VLS open in the position consistent with the model, that would essentially be confirmation that the model is legit.

And for below, a reminder to others for what the pictures of the model looked like if we forgot:
