well, 36k tons and 40k tons is close enough and I believe that would be 40k tons full load

I don't recommend looking through articles like what has been posted earlier for accurate information. In fact, at this point, a specific displacement doesn't yet exist.

The best sources are the Chinese ones, especially those with insider knowledge, or are connected with insiders, or have had a good track record of posting accurate predictions and information. You can find a lot of that further up the thread.

For the 075 specifically, it will likely have a standard displacement of around 30k tons, and coming close to 40k tons at full load. 36,000 tons is an awfully precise number, which I've seen no credible source for.

If by origin you mean that eastpendulum article, then it's hardly a credible source for a project still in its infancy like the 075.

No, I don't mean that. In fact, its writer was likely relaying information from some other rather well-known sources, as also seen in this thread.

These rumours from big shrimps in early 2017 seemed to suggest that construction started (or was about to start)
at that time (Henry K's article suggested that we should see modules in 2018).

As we haven't seen anything under construction yet, can we still consider these rumours accurate (but premature) ?

Pop3 is a fair source, but I personally believe that there's some things we can quite readily accept, and other things that I'd take with a grain of salt.

Does 36k refer to standard displacement, normal displacement, light load, or full load? Should we put so much emphasis on his 36k number when multiple sources have turned up with a range of possible displacements anywhere between 30k and 40k over the last 2 years? My opinion is that we shouldn't, not with so many conflicting voices.

As for progress on the 075's construction, the understanding is that HDZH would start assembling the modules after the 071s have been cleared, but it wasn't long ago that we learned that 2 additional 071s were ordered in addition to the original 6. Given the assumption that there would only be six 071s, Henri K's prediction for a 2018 sighting for the 075 was fair, if premature.
