How that SOS function works? very interesting .. does it send SOS to BeiDou Satnav?

I'm pretty sure the SOS is for getting help aboard the ship, so it's connected to some sort of indoor positioning system onboard, and others can quickly locate where you are on the ship as soon as you press it. Something like UWB is likely the tech behind it.
