I didn't see footage posted yet (sorry if I missed any) so thought I might share

Man it looks extremely bad from the video due to the sheer amount of smoke emanating from the ship.

I guess we'll know how bad the damage is based on whether there are any delays to the ship's schedule.

How do you think they fought this fire at this stage of building? Is there a sprinkler system, train fire crew on board, or just the builders?

I don't think they have trained staff on board in a military standard to tackle the fire. I really think they used a fire suppression system. Electrical fires are high heat and need chemicals to resolve, rather than water. I think this would most probably be applied to the fire via a system.

Everything I say is hypothetical, i'm making assumptions.

Is this wise? I don't want to sound like a contemptible Western presstitute, but it's not as if cover-ups are entirely alien to China. We don't need some mid-level official deciding "nothing major, nothing to see here, no structural damage, just put some paint on it and it'll be better than new" before there's been a thorough investigation, and then have the ship sink a few years down the line.

It's just the exterior of the ship that's getting cleaned, it's not like that means there won't be a thorough investigation and assessment of damage.
