Ok... but someday delft in the near or far future they will need to know how to keep those ships manned and ready at all times.

Robot, computer and automation are the key ... less sailors could be an advantage ... imagine more space, more food, more weapon, less complaint, etc ... that's the reality less people but more output is the trend now

Ever serve on a Navy ship? I have ..5 of them. Modern convinces & equipment are nice..as long as they work. Living breathing sailors are the life of a warship. They make it work properly.

Suppose that modern wizardry breaks down? Who's going to do the job if you don't have human hands to do the job?

You cannot live without trusting modern conveniences to a considerable extent. Otherwise you have to cram many more sailors into your ship than can live there in the necessary comfort. You can't let a radar technician live in the comfort of Nelson's time and expect him to work as accurate as necessary. There is a compromise between capability, ship size and complexity, crew size and total cost of ownership.
As long as China doesn't want to be able to invade countries on the Atlantic ocean at a few days notice they will not need to maintain vehicles on board their LPDs in the way USN needs to do.

Have you ever heard "OLD SCHOOL" terminology ... perhaps you are part of it ... the world and technology have changed dramatically, like cars now don't break, also computer, also TV, etc

Also have you ever heard REDUNDANCY concept like in Power System or Internet ... if something goes wrong other part would take over or change the route and as a customer you wouldn't even notice it

^^^ I'm not technically challenged. And the USN is the most technically advanced navy on this planet.

The bottom line is that you need sailors to run the ship.

As long as China doesn't want to be able to invade countries on the Atlantic ocean at a few days notice they will not need to maintain vehicles on board their LPDs in the way USN needs to do.

And when they want to use them for any purpose they will not be ready. If this is how the PLAN is presently using it's LPDs this is foolish. Sailors need to be trained and the very best training takes place at sea under way.

Ya' know the USN is ready for any contingency. As far as I know the US is not planning to invade any country at this time. Besides naval planners known that a frontal assault on a beach is foolish.

IIRC piracy was a major problem in South East Asian waters in the '90's ( or was it the '80's or both? ). At that time the international center for the combating of piracy was established in Kuala Lumpur. The pirates mostly operated from Sumatra. The navies of Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia were active against them. -- I remember thinking at the time that there were no messages of involvement by the 7th Fleet --.

A picture showing the Type 726 landing craft carrying a ZTZ-96. Space certainly is not an issue with Type 726. I'd be interested to see if this can carry ZTZ-99G. From all we've read, it should be able to handle something the weight of ZTZ-99G, but still need to wait for that photo.

Not likely with the issue of "can-or-cannot" but it'd have a chance to ride on one...as far as foreseeable future goes, the only opportunity that'd make use of MBT deployed via LCAC would be against Taiwan (islands in South China Sea are just too darn small to make it useful, fast delivery of light vehicle + infantry via LCAC are more sound), and AFAIK none of the divisions facing Taiwan and even those bordering Vietnam or in the Southern China regions (likely mobilized for South China Sea disputes) have ZTZ-99G...

Though it's nothing new that PLA could transfer ZTZ-99G equipped divisions to those regions for "special tasks", and repeatedly PLA practice such long-range movements via railway.
