If this turn out to be true, superb! Wonder if they would make any modifications along the lines of the fan-art that's been posted here earlier. At least the hull seems to be similar.

First, I don't know if it is me or the website (wforum), I only saw a bunch of pictures of some air cushion craft, but no attached report or what.

Second, that air cushion craft is so small! Not even part of the size of the Zubr!

Thus I do not believe that the ships we are seeing are china Zubr. And if it was not the Zubr class air cushion ship, I really don't see the point... China has the technology to build normal air cushion ships.

I guess you missed the point here It was never meant to be Zubr class in first place.It was meant to work in tandem with LPD 71 for over the horizon operation and able to land in difficult beaches therefore avoiding the deadlly coastal missile and has more choice to land troop!.

Without the LCAC the LPD is nothing more than glorified LST so the two of them has to work together . Now that LCAC seem to be succesfull , they probably decide to built the second LPD

The title of the wforum said that it is China Zubr class. Which mean the intent for the air cushion craft is a Zubr class air cushion. Or the author would not state as the title suggested.

And if the craft is not Zubr class air cushion, then there is nothing really new. China had the technology to build air cushion crafts, has been building them for years... but those are small, which by the way, could fit into a LPD.

So as you see, the article or photo or title of wforum is again not accurate. So please... should we just discard whatever wforum had? They simply show bs.
