Latest picture of construction of Type 071 No.4 shows that the hull has now been painted..............things seem to be moving very smoothly with the build of this vessel!

ps:- I need to get the hang of posting images on this site, for future reference! :)
To post an image, it needs to be on a server that :

1) You own (like I own JEFFHEAD.COM, or NavyReco owns Navy Recognition).
2) You have a place on (like Flickr, Photobucket, Image Shack, or Imgur)

You can always just post the URL of the location of the picture. Do you have that for the latest Type 071?

Nice !!

Any info what number it will gain ??

Whoever is updating Wikipedia is good and it does say it's going to ESF as 978 which also makes sense

But come to think of this whole programme this is very very big news infact in some ways one of the biggest news

Because what this means is that PLAN is establishing a flotilla of LPD at ESF with 3 units same as SSF

this means that many be in future all 3 fleets will have their own LPD flotillas

That is huge force for amphibious operations and already the largest LPD force outside the USN

With so many LPD PLAN is serious about a marine expeditionary type force and with 6-9 of these they are going to have one hell of a lift capacity

3 x Type 071 LPD can carry 12 x Type 726 LCAC and 12 x Z8 helos that alone is a very good lift for marines

Let's hope we see some serious restart of the LCAC production to go with these units
