Newest classes from the respective categories are winding down without any hint of follow ons.
054a and 071 are already finished.
052d and 056 will be finishing this year.
055 and 075 lines remain functional..
I think the Type-071 will continue for a while.
For a Taiwan contingency, there's a shortage of amphibious ships.
Plus it's better to have an excess of amphibious ships for both the initial assault and ongoing resupply.
And they're pretty cheap. Thailand is buying a Type-071E for $200M, and the Chinese version is supposed to be $300M.
For the Type-52D, I reckon there will be at least 30 built, which means construction will continue for a while longer.
But it's a good question as to what happens afterwards.
As for the "sustained" rate of destroyer construction, I reckon somewhere between 3-6 per year.
