An export version of the type 056 with SMART-S radar, heli-hangar, OTOMAT, Harpoon or Exocet, and phalanx or RAM, would do very good in the market. Would prefer that over the SIGMA class.

Why would you prefer 056 than Mistral ? cost wise ? or something else

I don't see Sigma class is less advanced or less powerful than 056 ... Sigma is actually a very decent corvette ... a bit heavier and significantly wider than 056.

I would imagine Sigma is at least 2x more expensive than 056 ... so yes, 056 would be a better choice :eek:

I'm afraid this would be dependent on the buyer as China wouldn't have access to these systems and could only deliver the hulls to the customer before it goes in for additional work, like the Thai hulls with western components. Would that really be considered an 056 export model? Or more of the end user custom building?
